This weekend, Sony Entertainment Television’s dance reality show ‘India’s Best Dancer vs. Super Dancer: Champions Ka Tashan’ raises the stakes with unique challenges thrown at the contestants. Hosted by the dynamic Harsh Limbachiyaa, the show pits Team India’s Best Dancer, championed by Malaika Arora, against Team Super Dancer, cheered on by Geeta Kapur. With the legendary ‘Lord of Dance,’ Remo D’Souza, presiding over the judges’ panel, the stage is set for an electrifying battle featuring twelve exceptional dancers from the two celebrated shows. Adding to the entertainment quotient, comedy powerhouses Bharti Singh and Krushna Abhishek bring their charm and energy, rallying for their favourite teams.
Things will get spicy as Remo D’Souza cranks up the heat with a wild challenge for the two rival teams. The ‘Lord of Dance’ himself reveals the secret to making a song unforgettable: the perfect hook step. But here’s the twist—each performer must pick a hook step from one of Remo’s songs and spin it their own way. But wait, there’s a catch, they can’t repeat the same hook step and must include at least five variations of their chosen one in their act. And just when you think it can’t get crazier, Bharti Singh steps in with a hilarious punishment as she announces that if Team Super Dancer loses, she will cut Tejas Verma’s signature plait and in case Team IBD team loses then Aniket will have to face a waxing session by her.
Known for their electrifying performances, Tejas and Florina from Team Super Dancer will take the stage with the iconic hook steps from the songs Pinga from the film Bajirao Mastani & Nach Baliye from the film Nach Baliye, and they certainly didn’t disappoint. Performing to the song Pinga, their high-energy act included an impressive 30 variations of the hook step. Remo D’Souza praised the duo for their flawless execution of the challenge, saying, “The way you’ve broken down, mixed, matched, and showcased my hook steps was incredible. 30 variations is no small feat! For our hook steps, we usually try 3 or 4, maybe 5 variations, but we typically settle on just 3. Among these 30 variations, I honestly don’t know which one to pick, but a few of them were absolutely brilliant. Tejas, we know you’re an amazing dancer, but today, for the first time, Florina was incredible in matching steps with you. Matching your energy and staying in sync until the very end is no easy feat, and you both nailed it today.”
Malaika Arora, who was impressed with Tejas and Florina’s performance said, “Tejas, you’re already a finalist, and that’s because you’re an exceptional dancer. You carry the title of a champion, and today, you truly lived up to those expectations. Florina, you were absolutely brilliant! I started counting your variations and got to seven before losing track—there were just so many. What stood out was how innovative and creative your moves were. I’m certain even Remo wouldn’t have thought of some of them. You both delivered a performance to remember!”
Following them, Saumya and Aniket from Team India’s Best Dancer stepped up and elevated ‘The Jawaani Song’ from the film Student Of The Year 2 hook step to an entirely new level with their power-packed performance.
